Top 10 Lesbian Films

This list is according to me. If you don't like my top ten list of lesbian films, then go away. I don't want you. haha! I'm just kidding, but seriously if you don't like it; it's okay because this is what I like. :) I didn't bother to write so much about the movie (like the synopsis), so I've just attached the IMDB page for it.

10. Loving Annabelle (2006)

I had always loved this movie since I can relate although not fully. I mean who hasn't had a crush on their teacher anyways, right? Okay maybe not everyone, but this movie has a serious atmosphere. Not so serious that you wouldn't want to watch it. However, it could make you cry, or maybe that's just me. I know that it got my toes curling from anticipation in most scenes. Be sure to watch till the end though, after the credits.

9. I Can't Think Straight (2008)

I Can't Think Straight would be nice as a slogan on a T-Shirt and guess what they have it in the movie. This is one of my friend's favorite movies. Not only because Lisa Ray and Sheetal Sheth are awesome fantasy lesbian couples, but also because the movie is based on giving those people who are scared to come out a reason to be free. This movie says it all when it comes to freedom of speech about being part of the LGBTQ community.

8. D.E.B.S. (2004)

OK! I have been waiting to get on this one. Besides the fact that I always had a thing for Jordana Brewster, it is a plus that she is the sexy lesbian one here. :) It's not that much of a spoiler really. I think it's best that you just watch this movie and hope that I didn't entirely ruin anything for you. I'm just pulling your arm. I didn't really ruin anything. :)

7. Saving Face (2004)

Saving Face works out well for me since I am of Asian descent. It doesn't require you to be Asian to watch it though. I'm just saying that you'll understand every feeling that the characters are going through since they come from Chinese families that follow the traditions.

6. Cosa Bella (2006)

This one is just a short film. It speaks for itself. I might just ruin it if I say any more. I suggest you don't even click the title that links you to the IMDB page because it will just ruin everything, so please don't click on it and just watch it. :) (Don't say I didn't warn you about not clicking the link)

5. But I'm A Cheerleader (1999)

I know, I know. You must be wondering why this was like from the 90s, and I would still suggest you watch now, right? Well this is mostly dark comedy, so if you don't like dry humor this isn't for you. I suggest you download it or something and see what it's got. I found it hilarious! What you'll find in this movie is a rehabilitation center for gays and lesbians. Isn't that new?

4. The World Unseen (2007)

Another movie with Lisa Ray and Sheetal Shesh, so you are in for another I Can't Think Straight. I don't think a lot of people liked it according to the ratings. However, I've shown it to a lot of my friends, and they seem to get as giddy as I am while watching it. :) It has some historical stuff too.

3. Boys Don't Cry (1999)

If you haven't seen this movie, you definitely should. It is a favorite for me and my friends. This is some crazy drama though. This is the only thing I will warn you about, do not forget to have some tissue beside you because it can get that emotional.

2. When Night Is Falling (1995)

You can be a Christian and still be a homosexual. It is a somewhat slow paced movie, but it is a great movie over all. I think I have an old Christian soul but I am not narrow. :)

1. Imagine Me & You (2005)

This is always in anyone's list of lesbian movies you've seen out there. It is because this movie is amazingly witty, funny, and dramatic all at the same time. I mean that is a very difficult quality to get from a movie right? Think of all the movies that has been released in the past three years. They are all just a load of crap (well somewhat since the Avengers were awesome!). Anyone would like this movie as their first lesbian film to watch.

There are other movies you can watch such as:

Waiting for a Sign?

Well, if you are waiting for a sign, this is it. :) Don't be afraid to do what you're going to do unless you know it's stupid.

Anyways, I've been looking for Lesbian themed films, and I am fairly sure that I have gathered my TOP TEN! I'm not going to post it here though. I'll make another post.

Wait for it! :)

Amazing Race Philippines

The Philippines has finally gotten the rights to be able to have their own Amazing Race here brought to us by TV5. I think it's awesome! I actually didn't know it until a friend of mine back from high school posted on Facebook who wanted to be her partner. Well me being me... I got interested and started researching about how to get an audition in because it seems like a good race to go into. After all the research, I started posting on my friend's status update and sent her the links which contained the requirements for the race. We only started talking about it on April 23rd if I'm not mistaken and we had to meet up even though we haven't seen each other in ages. Maybe this race would really be good for our friendship. I mean we've been classmates since we were Kinder until we graduated high school. Guess what? The colleges we attend are right beside each other and when we started college, it's just as if we never even knew each other until Amazing Race showed up. :) Anyways, we finished our application form just in the nick of time. We had difficulty on uploading the videos and the pictures because they all had to be uploaded at once, so we really had to coordinate. It was all okay though. The next thing we knew, they were asking us for an interview via SKYPE! It was awesome. I took some 45 minutes I think. It was really long, but I was laughing most of the time so I didn't notice the time.

However, after having been interviewed on the 1st of May, I haven't heard of anything. I keep looking at the website to see if my team got in. Sad to say, there are no updates whatsoever. This really makes me eager to find out who is in the race.I hope that my friend and I gets in because I really want to know how it feels. For me, I think experience is the best teacher, and this is kind of a once in a lifetime opportunity! It would be awesome for us to get in, right?

Do you think we should get in? :) We'll be TEAM YINYANG!

Calamari Day

Wow making calamares isn't as easy as they show it on the instructions on those How to websites. I couldn't even bear to take a picture because it was so ugly. All you could see was the white of the squid and a whole lot of brown stuff around. Okay. Imagine you have this in your mind:
Looks like the perfect calamari, yeah?
Looks sooo good to eat! YUM!!!

Well here is around what my Calamari looked like...

It doesn't look that great, huh? By the way, this isn't my picture. I just got it off google images. Anyways, that's how my calamari looked like minus the lemon and the garnish of mayonnaise. In the Philippines, we usually use vinegar to eat it, so I had made vinegar with onions and garlic and rock-salt as a dip. :)) OH and my girlfriend and I ate this with some Royal to drink. :)) YUMMY. Overall I guess it was good, but I'll try better next time. :)

Looking at 9Gag. :)

I was bored when I got home, so I decided to get me something to ponder upon. I found these! :) Some may not be funny. :)

Doesn't this speak out to every teenager there is?

This one is for me personally. (LOL JK)
I guess college is making me feel this way.
I really hope it is all worth it.

And I shall try and do this. :)

Bloomington Movie Review

I actually read the synopsis from some random site since IMDb didn't even have a synopsis for Bloomington and here's what's up with it:

A young woman finds first love with a more mature partner in this lesbian-themed independent drama. Jackie Kirk (Sara Stouffer) spent most of her teenage years in the limelight; she was a member of the cast of Neptune 26, a popular sci-fi television series that enjoyed a six year run. But now that the show has been cancelled, eighteen-year-old Jackie simply wants to be inconspicuous, just another freshman psychology student at a university in Indiana. Thanks to Neptune 26's success, that's no simple task, and her celebrity alienates more of her fellow students than it attracts. Jackie is attending a mixer for psychology students and faculty when he meets Catherine Stark (Allison McAtee), an attractive and confident professor. Catherine makes no secret that she's attracted to Jackie, and Jackie eagerly responds in kind. Soon the two are having an affair, but their relationship does not go unnoticed by campus gossips. Word about their romance spreads following the announcement that a Neptune 26 feature film is going into production, making Jackie even more recognizable, and the couple find themselves subjected to the often harsh judgment of others.

After reading the synopsis, you may say that it is interesting enough to watch. However, personally, I kept stalling to finish this movie for I have no other reason to say, but it just plain didn't vibe with me... at all! With all that hatred for the movie set aside, there are some good points to it. It made me giggle at times, and I found them really sweet. Some of the comments I've read before deciding to watch this movie was that the characters lacked chemistry. I don't think so though. I found it very interesting that for me they actually did have chemistry. I guess you have to overlook the fact that Jackie Kirk (Sarah Stouffer) looked about 16 in the movie then a 22 year old also made this movie soooo unbelievable than it already is. The acting I may say is oh-so-not-great, but I didn't expect to get that much from this. So if you are planning to watch this movie, watch it so that you don't want to judge at first and see that it isn't half as bad as what the other people comments. I mean there is a pedophile touch to it, but I swear, just look past that and you will fall in love with their relationship.

SPOILER ALERT!!!
Personally, not a great movie plot-wise since it is very, if not all the way, no story. It just seems the two main characters Jackie Stouffer and Allison McAtee just have this secret relationship that ends in a bottomless pit with no way of reaching towards it any more. It's like by the end of the movie, they just vanished in each other's lives and I think it was the worst ending. I mean I love indie films, I really do. I love lesbian films even more, however, I really can't say anything good about this movie unless...Allison McAtee comes in with her cute little dimples and practically blows me away with the professor look but that's not for everybody. :))

Here's the trailer though that gives the best parts of the movie too BTW:

Alone

I will be alone today from 2 pm until I don't know when...so I'm kind of sad. Any suggestions on what to do? Lol. Maybe I'll fill this blog up a little of movie stuff and post a bunch of pictures from tumblr or should I just make a tumblr account? I don't know and I kind of don't want to make a tumblr. Being a lesbian is sooo boring without your girlfriend. I guess I'll make that movie review of "Bloomington."

:))
